Quim Gil

Quim Gil (Madrid, 1977) has been writing stories for almost twenty years: stories that sell products and brands. A graduate in Communication Studies with an MBA from ESADE, Barcelona, he began his working life in the film industry, developing marketing campaigns for three years and also working as a script doctor for Lauren Films and Filmax. Gil’s subsequent career has been spent in leading international advertising agencies such as Ogilvy, McCann-Erickson and The Richards Group. Currently, he is head of advertising strategy for all agencies of Richards/Lerma, including the USA, Mexico and Argentina. He has lead worldwide campaigns for brand like Pepsi, Jeep, T-Mobile, Estrella Damm, Bacardi, Honda and many others and has also been a Professor at IED Istituto Europeo di Design and Visiting Professor at the University of Texas.

With dual Spanish and Canadian nationality, Gil speaks Catalan, Spanish, English and Portuguese fluently and has lived for long periods in Nepal, Portugal, Russia, Brazil, and, for three years, in Texas. He has published articles in leading magazines in the advertising sector. Shur is his first novel, a fictional story that has many parallels with the events that occurred in Nepal during the Maoist revolution.
