Johanna Westlund (Mölndal, Sweden, 1978) is a freelance journalist with many years experience in the publishing industry, most notably as Editor at the trade magazine, Svensk Bokhandel. Her innate curiosity means she is fascinated by many things – from psychology to dinosaurs. Her next step as a journalist will be to start up a new magazine of reportage, Magasin 450.
With an MA. in Literature, her fascination for stories of all kinds started very early, and she has had stories published in various anthologies (Som en augustitanke, En Bok för Alla 1998, och Växtvärk, Bonnier Carlsen 2000). She is fluent in English and French, knows some Italian and also speaks some Portuguese.
Westlund recently travelled around the world, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, which she describes as cold, tough and amazingly beautiful, and the latest project is learning how to surf. She currently lives part-time in Gothenburg, Sweden and Brussels, Belgium, both conspicuous for their lack of good surfing.
Westlund is currently working on a novel with the working title of Brist (Absence), a psychological tale about friendship and power, trust and control, lack and needs.
