Iolanda Batallé (Barcelona, Spain, 1971) is the Editorial Director of La Galera publishers. She is also a teacher of the Barcelona Athenaeum School of Writing, the Laboratori de les Lletres and of the Pompeu Fabra University M.A. in Publishing. She has travelled widely and has lived in places as diverse as California, England, Morocco, Argentina, South Africa and theBaix Empordà, one of the most beautiful Catalan coastal regions.
Her first novel, La memòria de les formigues (Ara Llibres, Spain, 2009), was a great success with critics and readers alike, and was lauded by recognized masters of Catalan literature including Ana María Moix, CareSantos and Francesc Miralles. Her second novel was El exacte límit dels nostres cossos (Ara Llibres, Spain, 2011). In 2013 she won the Bertrana Prudenci prize with her novel Fare tot el que tu vulguis (Planeta, Spain, 2013), which is regarded as one of the great successes of modern Catalan literature.
