Swedish authors Mats Lerneby, Leif Jacobsen and Dan Buthler have teamed up in an attempt to create better historical young adult fiction. United by their interest in history, they have used their collective experience as journalists, economists, bestselling authors and translators to embark on the creation of a new literary phenomenon.
Their common project, a high quality science fiction series called Time Twins, narrates the lives of famous people and places in the past through the thrilling, fast-paced adventures of two young teenagers. Time Twins resembles Indiana Jones, The Da Vinci Code and Tin-Tin, but has its own uniqueness, with both classical and original elements. With one foot in history, and the other in science fiction writing, Time Twins combines fascinating facts and milieus with infinite adventures.
Dan Buthler, a trained economist, is the bestselling co-author of the Silfverbielke suspense series, which has sold over 500,000 copies in Sweden, where each new title has gone directly to # 1 on the bestseller list. His favorite novel is The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Leif Jacobsen has written a number of novels for children and young adults, including a series about BMX-bikers and the fantasy The Traitor. He is also a renowned translator of works by authors such as Conn Iggulden, Jussi Adler Olsen and Lee Child. He has been a great fan of Tolkien’s works since his teens and is also very interested in history.
Mats Lerneby works as a reporter and researcher for Swedish Public Television and leading Swedish daily newspapers and magazines. He is the author of Disamore – Power, Mafia, and Football and The Deserter, a thrilling suspense novel set between Sweden and Italy. Mats’ favourite book is The Possessed by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.
